tea party/retro sketches #52...

Just posting a card I made for retro sketches.

For this week's challenge, is to use your favorite sketch and have a re-do.  All the 52 sketches, you can find them here

Because this is my first time to play it, so I just started from the first one, which is

So, here is my card:
I used some ribbons on one side, and used a brad to hold the front piece onto the background paper.
Now I've just realised that I forgot the sentiment!!  Oh, never mind.  I think it's pretty obvious that it's a tea party card, so it can be used as a happy birthday card, a celebration card or an invitation.
Hope you like it. xx

A good way of using the scraps

Hmmm, found a good way of using some left over paper that have been kicking about for a while.  All those cards below have similar panels on them.

Most of the scrap I used for those cards are left overs from this card:
Can you find them? xx

butterfly card

Made a round card today.
I used a brad to hold these two card stock together instead of using glue.  I thought that is quite cool.
For the butterfly topper, I firstly stamped the butterfly on a piece of card, and cut it out, and then stamped it on a piece of vellum, and cut it out, used a tiny glue dot to hold these two together, and added two gem stones to cover the glue dot and also add a bit bling to the card.  The butterfly stamp is from Hero Arts.

Here is the card and a closer look.
Hope you like it and have a nice day!

Just did a little project for CAS-ual Fridays' this week's challenge.

Simply just add some silver to the project.

So here is my card.

I think I kind of like the silver embossing effect on kraft card stock, never done that before.  But the only thing that I'm not so pleased with the card is the sentiment.  I wanted to have it say "to someone special" or "you colour my world", you know, things like that.  But I didn't have any.  So I used "thinking of you on you special day" instead.  Not 100% satisfied, but at least, it has a "special" on it.  So now I'm off to ebay, and try to find some interesting sentiment stamps.

Have to say, the new girl Fridays team is pretty amazing!  I have looked up their blogs, and have been wowing and awwing a lot!  Be sure to check them out!!

Anyway, hope you like the card.  I'll be posting another card/cards tomorrow.

Love Jar- Happy birthday card

Love love love the Love Jar stamp set from Hero Arts,  I received today and couldn't wait to try them out!

So here is the card:

I white embossed the jar on a piece of vellum, and cut it out.  Then cut a little slit on the top.  Then I stamped the flower and the branch and cut out these images then slided them into the jar.  It's so easy to made, and looks gorgeous!  Well, all my friends said so, anyway. Lol.

ATCAS - wings / playing with distress ink

Just posting a very simple card here.

I'm not very good at blending.  So the first time I used distress ink, I wasn't impressed.  But when I sprinkled some water on the card, that was where the magic began.  I just love the water colour effect on the card.

Originally, it was just the bird,  it looked empty, but I didn't know what else I could do to make it a bit "full". And then last night, I stamped some flowers in the same distress ink, and added some water on the stamp, then stamped it a few times.

Now, it's more like it!

The distress ink is Broken China, the bird stamp is from Inkadinkado, and flower stamp is from Hero Arts.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the card.  I'll catch you guys soon.

Thank you card

I've been making cards for the past two days, made lots!  Feeling really creative right now.

I have these paper from Stampin' Up, they are so cool and very manly.  So I made this thank you card, thought it'll be quite cool to give it to a dude.

Here is the card:

So, what do you think?

Thankful card

Tried something new, this is completely not my style.  But it's fun to do something different.  I thought it might just get by this week's challenge.  So here is the card:

It's a very simple card, I used a knife to cut around these large poppies, and just stick the whole patten paper onto a white card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hello/ CAS-ual Fridays CFC90: black&white plus 1

Hello everyone.

Took a little break from my blog.  My baby's teething, and the past week had been quite upsetting. :(  Felt so sorry for him, wished I could take his pain away...

Anyway, eventually, the 2 back teeth have come out and we have had lots of laughters and giggles.  So this card is made for him.

Here is a closer look:

Embossed white card stock on white card, stamped a cute owl image, yeah, just like my cute baby. :)

Thought it would fit in this week's challenge.  Oh my gosh, so many pretty cards this week!
And finally, congratulations to the new team!!
