You hold the key

Just a short post to share with you a quick card I made for the next Valentine's Day (What? Already?!?), lol.  All the stamps I used on this card are from one set from Clearly Besotted. To add a finishing touch, I used some red twine to wrap the card round once and tied a bow.  Hope you like my card, and have a great day!  Gotta go, kids' swim lessons start in 20 mins, can't be late.

Ahoy Matey!

I'm here to share a quick card with you all.  It's my nephew's 4th birthday next week, so I made this card for him.  He's really into pirate that stuff, so I used a boat stamp from Clearly Besotted and did a quick colouring with just 2 shades of grey (CG1 and 2 from Spectum Noir), and then cut the image out leaving a white border all around.  I also stamped the sentiment on a piece of paper to ground my boat.  I put the whole thing on a piece of patterned paper, can't remember which pad this paper is from, I had it for a long time, I thought the gold embossed dragons are just so cool, and perfect for my background.  To finish off the card, I added some gold sequins to match the gold embossing and to add a little bit more interest.  And that's IT.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by and see you soon.

Challenge: Simon says stamp Wednesday: Anything goes/Spectum Noir marker
Virginia's view #9: All things metallic.

Have a robotastic birthday.

It's been a while since the last time I posted.  Life is just too busy with 2 little kids and running a home. I honestly don't know where time has gone.

Well, it's that time of the year, the holiday season. My friend have asked me to do a pop-up shop with her this Saturday to sell some of our creations.  So I've been extra busy in the evenings this past week making cards till midnight.  I had fun! I missed making cards till midnight before our kids were born.

So here is just one sample.  I used Lawn Fawn's robot stamp set, stamped the images on a patterned paper, coloured them in with my Specturm Noir marker in cool greys (CG1,2 and 4) and used glossy accents on the balloon.  Super easy and boyish.  Love how it came out.

Hope you like it, too.
Thank you for stopping by.

Lawnscaping challenge - one layer

Hello!  Today I'm sharing with you a quick card using the stamp set 'Beep Boop Birthday' from Lawn Fawn.  My inspiration for this card is from a stamp set 'Up and Away' by Mama Elephant, I'm sure you know the set pretty well.  So here is my take on.

I stamped the balloon quite a few times to make a bunch, and stamped the robot and coloured it in with just 2 shades of greys.  I manipulated the speech bubble into a flag and stamped my sentiment in it.

I hope you like it, and see you soon!

Hello again!

I actually made two cards based on the current challenges at Make the Day Special(sketch) and Virginia's View Challenge #7(patterned paper). And this is my second one.

The little robot and the present stamps are from Lawn Fawn's new release 'Beep Boop Birthday',  I just love the two robots in the set, so much fun to colour in with.  And for this card, I used some Spetrum Noir markers in 2 turquoise shades.  The patterned paper is from Crate Paper 'Story Teller'.  and I randomly stamped some bolts (also from the set) on the red panel to make it look more interesting.  The robot looks as if he just jumped out from behind the blue panel to say ' Surprise!' and that's why I cut these letters out from a patterned paper (the same collection), yes, these aren't stickers. At last I traced around the blue panel with a black marker, otherwise it would look too boring.

Just that simple!
Hope you like it. If you would like to see my first card, just scroll down.
See you soon!

Welcome baby card in neutral colours

Hello! It has been ages since last time I posted.  I didn't make any cards during the summer holidays, just enjoyed the very brief British summer (and it's been amazingly not brief this year) with my kids, and I loved it, although I was so itchy wanting to make cards.

So here is my first card after a 2-month-break:

Who said baby cards can only be pink or blue? Lol.

I stamped the elephants (from Paper Smooches 'A little lovin') and coloured in with some Spetrum Noir markers in cool grey shades.  Then the coloured piece was adhered onto a doily die cut (from Clearly Besotted).  The patterned paper is from Country Boutique from Fancy Pants.  And my card is based on the sketch from the current 'Make the Day Special challenge'.  Also this month's Virginia's View Challenge #7 is all about patterned paper, so I would like to submit my card to both challenges.

Do play along if you can.  See you soon!

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  It's another weekend, so SMILE!
Here I even created a card to share with you, hope it will bring a smile on your face!

So I'm combining 4 challenges here, phew.
For my colour inspiration, it's from this week's Colour Me #26..
For the basic sketch, it's from CAS(E) this sketch #82.
I also added a few hearts on the card to fit in this month's CAS-ual Fridays #133.
And lastly, Simon's: Anything goes (it's a cheat here, I didn't use any American Craft products).

Clean and simple, this is the way I like.  Sometimes I wonder why I spent so much money on craft supplies simply to make clean and simple card? Funny, isn't it?!

Have Faith - using SSS Gingham stencil

Hello all!  I'm popping in to share a card I made using some SSS products.  I saw a video by Kristina Werner using Gingham stencil made a background and it was gorgeous, so I purchased this product and tried it out on this card, I have to say, I like the result and I think this stencil is just gorgeous, but I don't think I will use it very often, it's very hard when you use a blending tool, because it's so intricate, I almost dabbed the pad on to the stencil.  It took a bit of time.

For the rest of the card, it's pretty simple.  I stamped 'Have Faith' from SSS Blessed set onto a piece of vellum and stamped the butterfly with some blue/mint ink, and added some pink in the open areas. and adhered the whole thing onto the card base and added some dash lines on the top, and that finished the card.

Here is the card:

Robotastic birthday

Hello!  This is my first post at Lawnscaping challenge: Stars and stripes.  My latest Lawn Fawn order arrived last week and I couldn't wait to get my fingers inky with this Beep Boop Birthday set.  I think the robots and all the elements in the set are just super adorable.  So here's my take-on of this challenge.

Pretty simple card, quick and easy with very basic colouring and a bit blending.  I had so much fun making it.  Anyway hope you like what I created,  and thanks for stopping by.

Nautical hello

I'm totally in my Clearly Besotted mood.  Here I'm using the anchor stamp from 'Ahoy Matey' set and made some nautical themed cards.

Sorry about the embossing, I was in a hurry and didn't do a good job on it.
I'm going to submit this one to this month's CBS challenge: Anything Goes, and the current The Card
Concept#12: Use a nautical theme.

And here are some more.  I have this 'Happy hello' dies from My Favorite things, I just die cut them all and made four cards in one go.  I just love this clean and simple look of these cards.

That's all for today.  Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you teacher!

Hi there!

You can tell I've got kids right?  Because I'm making ' Thank you, teacher' cards.

Just kidding, my wee boy is only 2 and a half and my wee baby girl is only 6 months, they aren't in nursery yet.   But I was asked to make some cards by a mum for her children's teachers in our local school.  And I was really thrilled that she liked my cards.

I just LOVE CBS stamps, totally, entirely, too much.  I'd like to own all their stamp sets, so I've been saving up like crazy (hehe).

Anyway, I also would like to submit the first one to the current CBS challenge: Anything goes.  Do play along if you could, there are tons of brilliant entries this time.

See you soon!

Last minute Clearly Besotted Challenge - colour theme

Well my last minute project:

My colour inspiration is from the latest Clearly Besotted Challenge #11.

I white embossed the lily image and the sentiment onto some watercolour paper and added colours to it,  I'm sorry the photos are crap, it's been so dark and cloudy in Edinburgh (typical), and I'd been waiting on some decent light to take some photos all day but, ah well, it's really pretty in real lift.

Have a lovely weekend! xx

Colour Me...Playful

Be honest with you, when I first saw this colour combo over at Colour Me challenge blog, I thought I wouldn't be able to make anything out of it, it's too hard.  Usually when I see a colour combo, I have a pretty good idea of what I can do, what sort of images/sentiments/layouts I can use to go with it, but this time, my mind was spinning so fast and yet still nothing came out of it.  For 2 days, I thought and thought and thought till my head was sore and DING...(like a bell rang in my head) I had an idea and this is what I came up with:

There is nothing technical about this card, finding the matching colour was very tricky as I don't own any Stampin'up inks, especially for the Cajun Craze, I had to blend some grey into some beige to make that colour, but I think that's a very close match.

Hope you like it.  And just then I had another card idea based on this combo, so I must dash and make it before I forget.  So, see you soon.

Haha happy dancing...  Just a quick update, my card won the colour captivating of this challenge.  YES!!

Thinking of you (black and yellow)

Hello again (I said again because this is my second post for The Card Concept #11 - colour challenge), for my first one, please scroll down.

I'm not a fan of yellow at all, but I think yellow and black go really well, the colour combo is very striking and eye-catching.  After my first card using this colour theme, I really enjoyed using yellow on my card, and after all, it's not that bad a colour. So I went ahead, made another one.  A clean and graphic card:

Hope you like it.  Have a good weekend.

Happy birthday (black and yellow)

Over at The Card Concept challenge blog, the latest one is a colour theme:

To use yellow, black, grey (optional) and white (optional) on your project. and here is what I came up with:

A clean and simple birthday card.

Super quick and easy to make: just basic blending/inking over a stencil, stamped some flowers (Hero Arts), and a sentiment (which is also from Hero Arts), and that's pretty much it.

Hope you like it, and see you soon!

Seize the cupcake!

Hello!  Phew, this is actually my third post today, I've been catching up on making cards and posting them.  Finally I got some time tonight when the kids are in bed.

The card I'm showing you here is a simple birthday card.

I heat embossed a cupcake and coloured it in with my markers -- yeah, it damaged the tip of a marker (yuk), I should have listened to Jennifer McGuire's advice.  I also cut a tag shaped piece from a piece of vellum and quickly put together the card.  I distressed the card base a little bit in some orange colour to match the doily behind the cupcake.  By the way, this card is for Seize the Birthday challenge: tag your it!

Anyway, that's all for today, now it's time for a film and some cakes!

Flying by to say HI

Yay, it's CAS(E) this Sketch #77 time, and it's a GREAT one!

I think I can make a ton of cards just based on this one sketch!  Super fun!  So here is my card:

A super simple card, quick and easy to do which I like.  Hope you like it, see you soon!
